Halloween Costumes

Halloween is my favourite time of the year. I love the process of brainstorming ideas, transforming thrift store finds into unique costumes, and involving my friends in group ensembles.

All my costumes are entirely handmade or upcycled from thrifted materials, and by the time Halloween rolls around, my hands are often stained in various colours, coated with fabric glue, and sore from the meticulous tasks—whether it's applying a thousand rhinestones or painting intricate designs on the costumes.

Taking and editing photos to capture these moments adds another layer of excitement, allowing me to bring the collective vision to life. The journey from concept to completion is incredibly fulfilling. While I start planning in my notes app throughout the year, some of the best ideas come together last-minute. In recent years, I've taken the challenge of creating up to four costumes to make the most of the Halloween weekend.

It's a season of fun and fabric scraps + feathers all over my room. I always cherish the opportunity to share my costumes with my friends and followers on Instagram, but I choose to share them here because I believe they are incredibly relevant and beneficial for to my future career in advertising and marketing. They showcase my creativity, storytelling ability, innovative thinking, attention to detail, creative direction, photo-editing talents, resourcefulness, self-promotion skills, and multidisciplinary talents, all of which are highly valued in the field.

““No matter what your age or life path, whether making art is your career or your hobby or your dream, it is not too late or too egotistical or too selfish or too silly to work on your creativity.”
